Hello and WELCOME to my blog!
As many of you know, I will soon be starting my four-month-long adventure in Scotland (woohoo!!!). I will attend the University of Aberdeen for the fall semester and take a full course load, just as I would normally do at St. Olaf. Unlike at St. Olaf where we register for classes several months prior to the start of the semester, we don’t register at Aberdeen until the week before class starts. Will I take Gaelic Folklore? Real Analysis? Jesus in History and Culture? Stay tuned to find out 😉
Although class doesn’t start until September 18th, I plan to leave home at the end of August to do a bit of exploring before moving into my dorm at the University of Aberdeen. My itinerary includes many cities, castles and scenic train rides, so stop back in September for daily updates (with photos!!!). I will surely have entertaining stories to tell each day….
Which is exactly why I created this blog.
Believe it or not, I started ‘Cruisin’ Clara’ back in March of 2020 when COVID sent us home and gave me plenty of free time. After visiting my friend in France two years in a row and touring Spain with my high school Spanish class, I had SO many stories to tell. Unfortunately, I was always so exhausted when I came home that I probably only told half of them! I spent the first couple weeks of quarantine reading articles, watching Youtube videos, and playing around with WordPress. Then, the pandemic lasted much longer than anyone anticipated and it felt like nobody was ever going to travel again.
So, I am officially launching my blog now in August of 2022. Better late than never, right?!
Studying abroad in Scotland will no doubt be a life-changing experience for me, and I am delighted to be able to share it with you all!
Until next time,
Clara
